Guide des vins Parker 2011
Chateau Bizard La Grangette 2009
Rating: 87
Drink: 2010-2013
The 2009 Coteaux du Tricastin exhibits crunchy berry fruit
intertwined with incense, spice box, pepper and earth. It
reminds me of a French version of a California Zinfandel.
Round, easygoing and juicy with lots of briery fruit and
spice, it can even be served chilled if you like. These three
cuvees are all charming, seductive wines to be drunk in
their first 2-3 years of life.

Chateau Bizard Montagne de Raucoule 2009
Rating: 88
Drink: 2010-2013
The 2009 Coteaux du Tricastin Montagne de Raucoule
reveals a slightly darker hue as well as more garrigue, forest
floor and blacker fruits along with cherry jam and
strawberries. The wine is medium-bodied, fruity and soft,
but more complex, longer and denser. These three cuvees
are all charming, seductive wines to be drunk in their first
2-3 years of life.

Chateau Bizard Serre de Courrent 2009
Rating: 89
Drink: 2010-2013
Raising the quality bar slightly higher, the 2009 Coteaux du
Tricastin Serre de Courrent is a sleeper of the vintage.
Made in an elegant, Pinot Noir-like style, it offers loads of
forest floor, mushroom, black cherry, berry, Christmas
fruitcake and spice characteristics. Like its siblings, it is a
long, supple wine to enjoy over the next several years.
These three cuvees are all charming, seductive wines to be
drunk in their first 2-3 years of life.

“The Coteaux du Tricastin is better known for its wealth of
black truffles than high quality wines, but Chateau Bizard
has proven to be the exception to the rule. These are
delicious, fruit-forward reds that sell for a song. All of them
are various blends dominated by Grenache with Syrah and
occasionally Carignan included.”
